Why TREWWATSON?

My British grandfather had the name Trew-Watson and the Trew part has always been something of a family mystery.  Sadly my granddad shuffled off this mortal coil in 1945 just a few months before the penicillium that would’ve saved his life was widely available, so I may never know.  Contact me if you can help.

Why a journal of miscellany?

I have a lot of hobbies and interests such as music (playing and enjoying), food, technology, photography, cheese-making, nature, art, design, science, writing, cycling, parenting, viniculture, beer, fine spirits (the parenting requires a fair amount of booze, ok?!) and more. I felt it might be interesting to jot down some notes, insights, memories and observations in the form of a blog.  We’ll see where it goes…

Why now?

Why not?  It is something I’ve thought about doing for quite sometime and am really just doing it for myself.  I’ve always been fascinated by diaries and the glimpses into lives lived that they give like those of Samuel Pepys or Thomas Turner.
